Benjamin Hui

      My name is Ben and photography is one of something I've come to love. I had originally i had taken this course because i had an interest in photograph, but over the course I started to see the different things you could do with a camera, that it was more than just point and click. Photography, for me, has developed from just an interest to something i would consider a hobby. This is my first time taking a photography course, and my abilities have evolved quite significant. I learned all sorts of techniques that i never knew about. I think that my photos have improved exponentially since i started the course.

       I believe that the skills and techniques that i had the chance to experiment with throughout the course will be used later even when i am not in a photography class. I really enjoyed shooting the creative zone assignment because it gave me much more freedom than with other assignments. Although i found the light painting assignment much more difficult than i had earlier anticipated, i had a lot of fun shooting it. Some of the more challenging assignments for me were lighted portraits, because i myself am an introvert i am not the greatest at communicating what i want with my subject. Even though i had trouble shooting this assignment, i enjoyed using the lights.

      In the future i will also use photography extensively to take pictures of my interest in my career of choice, which is architecture. Given this, my favourite thing to shoot will always be a landscape with a beautiful sunset.
